Mid-summer Greetings

July 14th, 2008

Mid-Summer Greetings!

A Reminder: It’s French Vacation Time!

Just as we celebrate July 4 as our day of independence, the French observe the 14th of July, anniversary of the storming of the Bastille, as their independence day.  It is also the start of the traditional summer vacation period, when the French, by law, are allowed to take their month-long vacation.

Great for the French…not so great for us who try to do business with them during August! Most of our suppliers shut down for the entire month.

So, if you have linen items you would like to order, be aware that orders must be placed by July 23rd for August delivery. Orders placed later will not be shipped until late September.

We still have a good selection of items in stock for immediate shipment, and we are adding items weekly.
Most items from Cristel (see below),  Schott-Zweissel

and   Vent du Sud are stocked in the US and still available on a two week order cycle.

Compact Cookware
Attention Boaters, Recreational Vehicle Owners, and anyone with a compact galley or kitchen! Cristel Stacking Cristel Concept

Cristel is the premier consumer cookware in France, combining detachable handles and the finest stainless steel with aluminum core cooking efficiency.  This compact concept is important for the French and has also found great acceptance in Japan, where kitchen space is at a premium.  Some of our best customers in this country are  boaters who want the space saving and the corrosion resistance of stainless steel.  We use it ourselves in our loft kitchen.  No awkward handles, and it can be used in the oven or as a serving piece.  Now availale in three styles.  We list the top of the line Multiply line on our site.  Contact us if you would like information or a quote on Agate or Zenith lines.
