Meritage – St Paul


An up-scale French Brasserie in St Paul Minnesota, Meritage has won numerous awards for its French cuisine and James Beard nominations for French trained Owner/Chef Russell Klein.  Featuring an oyster bar, specialties such as Duck a la Presse, patio seating in the summer, and an extensive wine list, the restaurant mirrors popular brasseries in France.   Chef Klein and wife Desta have researched restaurants in France and elsewhere in Europe, providing a continental flair to their offering.  In July and August, special menus are offered in honor of the Tour de France, featuring foods and pairings typical of a different region each week.  In early October, Meritage sponsors “Oysterfest”, a huge one day outdoor festival featuring all-you-can-eat oysters.  Vendors from both coasts set up in tents, dispensing oysters on the half shell.  An entire block is cordoned off for the event.  Good food, good wine, and an excellent wait staff provide for a great dining experience at Meritage.
